Water purification
Besides heat collection, the collector area is also used for the collection of rainwater. When put in a horizontal position, it has a natural shape to perform this task. The water is lead trough a gutter at the centre of the dish and pipes into a water container. Here the water is stored to be processed by a water purification installation.

Sunbelt countries, where his type of application is most likely to be used, are known for long dry periods, with maybe a few drops of rain in a month. In this environment dust has a good change to stick to the collector area and reduce the reflectiveness of the mirrors. To solve this problem, a sprinkler installation is built into the dish, spraying the dish on a daily basis (in the morning, before operation). This way the dust and dirt will not get a change to stick to the collector area. The used water is off cause captured again and lead into the water container.
